Import a whole lot from one CSV file

Bring up to 1,000 vehicles in at once. Every row is checked with the same rules as the form, and each car waits in the list until its photos arrive.

A dealer with a few hundred cars should not type a few hundred forms. From today, the vehicle list takes a CSV file.

What the import checks

  • Up to 1,000 rows per file.
  • Columns are named like the vehicle record, in any order and any case.
  • An unknown column refuses the whole file. A typo like “color” would otherwise drop every value in it without a word.
  • Each row is checked with the same rules as the form: the required fields, the year, positive measurements and the field limits.
  • A row with any error gives no record. Nothing half-checked is stored.

You see the rows that are ready and the rows with a problem, side by side. Import the ready rows, or fix the file and check it again.

Photos come later

An imported vehicle waits in the list as “Photos needed”. Start it from the list when its photos are in, through the usual form. Its credits are held only then, so an import never spends anything.
